Former music chief caught in Pellicano web

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- The FBI has arrested the former head of Hollywood Records in its wiretap and conspiracy probe of former Hollywood private eye Anthony Pellicano.

The Los Angeles Times quoted sources Sunday saying Robert Joseph Pfeifer was taken into custody Friday and more people were expected to be charged Monday when a federal indictment against Pellicano is unsealed.

The exact charges against Pfeifer were unknown, the Times said. However, his estranged wife was quoted in court documents as saying he was a longtime friend of Pellicano's and knew he was under investigation as part of the Pelicano probe.

Pellicano was transferred to the San Bernadino County Jail Friday in anticipation of his Los Angeles arraignment, the Times said. He is serving a 30-month sentence for possession of illegal explosives.

The Times said the Pellicano indictment has many of Hollywood's elite on edge. He has worked for several of the town's biggest celebs including Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor as well some of top-name attorneys.
