Destiny's Child tapped for All-Star anthem

HOUSTON, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Superstar pop trio Destiny's Child will sing the national anthem before the NBA All-Star game in Houston, it was announced Tuesday.

The 55th NBA All-Star Game will be played Feb. 19 at the Toyota Center and broadcast live on TNT.

It will mark the final performance for the Grammy Award-winning trio, the NBA said in a news release.

Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams announced their breakup last year.

Knowles is busy shooting "Dream Girls," Rowland is working on a solo release as well as UPN TV's "Girlfriends" and Williams is working on her solo album as well.

All three are Houston natives.
