Golden Globes adds a category

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- The Hollywood Foreign Press Association Monday announced the addition of an award for best animated feature film in next year's Golden Globes Awards.

Eligible films must be "feature-length (70 minutes or longer) with no more than 25 percent live action," HFPA President Philip Berk announced in a news release.

"If less than eight animated films qualify, the award will not be given, in which case the films would be eligible for Best Picture," he said. "The category will be limited to three nominations per year."

The new award brings to 25 the number categories recognized by the Golden Globes.
