PARK CITY, Utah, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- The same two films won the grand jury and audience awards in both the dramatic and documentary competitions at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.
The top drama named in Park City, Utah, Saturday night was the coming-of-age story, "Quinceañera," written and directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.
The top documentary was Christopher Quinn's "God Grew Tired of Us," the story of how three of Sudan's "lost boys" learned to live in the United States.
It marked the first time in the history of Sundance that the audience and judges agreed on top two films, the Times said.
The Waldo Salt dramatic screenwriting award went to writer/director Hilary Brougher for "Stephanie Daley" and the dramatic cinematography award went to Tom Richmond for Chris Gorak's "Right at Your Door."
Dito Montiel took the dramatic directing awards for "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" and its ensemble cast -- Robert Downey Jr., Shia LaBeouf, Rosario Dawson, Chazz Palminteri, Dianne Wiest and Channing Tatum -- won a special jury award.
