Blast injures four on ABC soap set

NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A special effects explosion on the New York set of the ABC daytime drama "All My Children" injured four stunt performers, producers said Friday.

"Unfortunately, during a shoot which included planned special effects, four stunt people were injured," producers said in a statement. "All four are expected to make a swift recovery."

The accident occurred Tuesday, WINS-AM, New York, reported.

Neither the producers nor ABC provided further details.

The accident apparently occurred during the filming of "an explosion that rocks Pine Valley and its residents," the radio station reported. Pine Valley is the fictional setting of "All My Children."
