Don Ho is gung ho to work again

HONOLULU, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Hawaii's legendary entertainer, Don Ho, says he's ready to get back to work after undergoing an experimental heart procedure in Thailand.

Ho, 75, told the Honolulu Advertiser it will be good to get back to work Sunday at the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber hotel -- but there will be a few noticeable changes.

For one, when he sings his signature song, "Tiny Bubbles," there won't be any wine in his glass.

Another concern, he said, is his legendary voice.

"I don't know if I can sing," Ho said. "I just don't know how my voice is going to sound."

He underwent an experimental stem cell procedure in Thailand Dec. 5 to bolster his heart muscles. He said the operation has been deemed a success and his "stamina's good" and "shortness of breath is history."
