White Stripes are guests of 'The Simpsons'

Jan. 17, 2006 at 4:13 PM

NEW YORK, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Detroit rockers, the White Stripes, are the latest celebrities to jump aboard the animated bandwagon of Fox TV's "The Simpsons."

Jack and Meg White have voiced their parts for an episode called "Jazzy and the Pussycats," in which they become embroiled in a Simpsons family feud over Bart's drumming.

A scene in the episode pays homage to the Stripes' video "The Hardest Button the Button," MTV.com reported Tuesday.

A Fox spokesperson told MTV the rockers recorded their parts in late November before Jack White lost his voice. He is under doctors' orders not to speak until his throat problems abate.

The White Stripes episode will air sometime next fall.
