LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star Tori Spelling will play herself in "so noTORIous," the first scripted show for the cable network VH1.

Spelling, 32, created the show for NBC, but the network passed and VH1 has picked it up, The Los Angeles Times reports.

The actress says the scripts are "loosely" based on her life. In the pilot, Farrah Fawcett appears as her next-door neighbor and Loni Anderson plays her mother.

The scripts poke fun at Spelling's reputation as a daddy's girl, the Times said. Her father is legendary television producer Aaron Spelling. At one point in the pilot, the theme from the TV soap "Dynasty" is heard in the background as she pulls into the driveway of her parents' mansion.

"My family loves that I am poking fun at myself, and they think it's very brave, and they support it," she said.

"So noTORIous" is scheduled to bow April 2 on VH1.
