Sci Fi to air Spielberg miniseries

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- The Sci Fi Channel and Steven Spielberg are going to try and recreate history with another miniseries.

Their last collaboration in 2002, "Taken," was the most watched show in the cable channel's history, Daily Variety said.

Sci Fi announced Thursday it will air Spielberg's 12-hour miniseries, "Nine Lives."

"Taken" writer Les Bohem is writing the script that will follow several characters who decide to undergo near-death experiences in order to reunite with dead loved ones. But each trek to the other side brings the characters closer to an "unknown evil" about to be unleashed on mankind, Variety said.

Sci Fi has the miniseries scheduled to bow in 2007.
