LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Sarah Jessica Parker is on board to star in the big screen musical comedy "Slammer," it was announced Friday.
Director Todd Graff is in talks with Revolution Studios to direct, The Hollywood Reporter said.
The songs and score are being composed by the "Hairspray" team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
Parker will play publicist Maggie Ray, who is framed for theft and shipped to New York's Sing Sing Prison, The Reporter said. Once behind bars, she produces a musical staged by inmates that could save her career.
Sara Goodman wrote the script from a story by Tim Metcalfe and John Slotnick.
