NEW YORK, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Former ABC "Nightline" anchor Ted Koppel added two more jobs to his "retirement" Thursday.

Koppel has signed on to write op-ed columns for the New York Times starting Jan. 29, the newspaper announced, and National Public Radio announced the veteran newsman will join its staff in June as senior news analyst, TVWeek reported.

"There is no more respected or influential forum in the field of journalism than The New York Times," Koppel said in the Times announcement.

In the NPR release, Koppel said he was "an unabashed fan" of NPR and admitted to have "stolen untold excellent ideas" for his network broadcasts.

"It's time to give something back," Koppel said.

Last week, he hooked up with cable's Discovery Channel as managing editor to develop and serve as host for news-based programming.
