Lohan disputes Vanity Fair quotes

NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan says she never told Vanity Fair magazine that she had an eating disorder but the magazine says it has a taped interview with the U.S. actress.

E-mail from Lohan circulated to various media outlets by her representatives says Vanity Fair writer Evgenia Peretz took her comments about bulimia out of context, MTV.com reported Wednesday.

"I'm appalled with the way (the article) was done," Lohan wrote, accusing the writer of "lying" and "changing" her words.

Lohan's rep told MTV.com the 19-year-old has never been bulimic or anorexic.

"Lindsay is upset," Leslie Sloane Zelnick said. "Things were taken out of context. Liberties were taken."

Vanity Fair released a statement saying it stands behind its reporter and the story running in the current issue.

"Evgenia Peretz is one of our most reliable reporters," the statement said. "Every word Lindsay Lohan told her is on tape. Vanity Fair stands by the story."
