NAACP Image Award nods announced

NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The WB's "Everybody Hates Chris," HBO's "Lackawanna Blues" and Hollywood's "Crash" led all nods Tuesday for the 37th annual NAACP Image Awards.

"Lackawanna Blues" garnered seven nominations in the television categories while "Chris," "The Bernie Mac Show" and "Half & Half" earned five nods apiece and "Grey's Anatomy" garnered four, Zap2it.com reported.

Other nominated comedies include "Girlfriends" and Cartoon Network's new animated series, "The Boondocks." "Grey's Anatomy" will face off for best drama against "Lost," "Commander In Chief," "CSI: Miami" and "House."

Crash received six nominations in the film category and will compete for best film against "Hustle & Flow," "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," "Hitch" and "Coach Carter."

Kanye West, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys each received four nominations in the music categories.

The 37th annual Image Awards will be taped Feb. 25 and aired March 3 on Fox TV.
