LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Comedy Central's police show spoof "Reno 911!" is hitting the big screen, it was announced Thursday.
Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox are co-producing "Reno 911!: Mimi," which starts shooting Jan. 21 in Miami and Los Angeles, The Hollywood Reporter said.
The TV series' co-creator, Robert Ben Garant, wrote the script with co-creators Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kenney and will direct the improvisational-based project.
The story revolves around the Reno crew as they attend a national police convention in Miami Beach during spring break. A bio-attack is launched on the convention center, leading the ensemble cast to "save the day," The Reporter said.
