Brides of Destruction takes 2006 off

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Brides of Destruction, which includes Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx and L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns, won't be playing in 2006.

Sixx has more or less stepped back from the band with the successful Motely Crue reunion while Guns has joined up with another big 1980s band, Quiet Riot, Billboard.com reported Tuesday.

On the Brides of Destruction message board, Gunns writes Quiet Riot will be recording a new album in 2006 and supporting it with a worldwide tour.

The guitarist said he "didn't even have to think about it" when Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow and drummer Frankie Banali asked him to hop aboard. They are auditioning for a bassist.

"I committed at least one year of my time to Quiet Riot and possibly more in the future," he said.

Sixx and Guns formed Brides of Destruction back in 2002 with Scott Coogan and vocalist London LeGrand.
