LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- "The O.C." star Adam Brody is about to get busy behind the camera as well.

Brody is splitting his time between portraying the quirky Seth Cohen on the primetime Fox soap, to serve as executive producer of a new NBC drama, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The yet-to-be-named show is about a rookie police officer who joins a special unit of the Los Angeles Police Department that's charged with tracking vampires.

Over on the big screen side, Brody is co-producing a remake of "Revenge of the Nerds" for Fox Searchlight.

He recently co-starred in the hit summer feature "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
