LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- TV networks have a number of projects in development, including what is believed to be the first primetime drama about Chinese-Americans.

The CBS drama is based on the 2005 independent film, "Red Doors." The pilot is being written by the movie's director, Georgia Lee, MediaWeek reported Friday.

Over at ABC, Emmy-winning "Curb Your Enthusiasm" director-producer Robert B. Weide is putting together a comedy about the life of a single woman in the city.

"On the Edge" is a drama in development at UPN about a troubled district attorney's search for her parents' killers. TV star-turned-film director Penny Marshall, "Remington Steele" co-creator Michael Gleason and Alan Moskowitz, a writer on the TV series "Harry and the Hendersons," are involved in the program.
