MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Seattle rockers Pearl Jam have won their case against a group using the Internet domain name pearljams.com to sell a variety of goods.

The National Arbitration Forum in Minneapolis ruled Thursday the domain name used by Vertical Axis Inc., was "confusingly similar" to the band's trademark registered in 1995 with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, it was announced in a news release.

Arbitrator Bruce E. Meyerson said Vertical Axis had no legitimate rights or interest in the disputed Web address, and was using the address in bad faith for its own commercial gain.

Vertical Axis did not submit a response in the case.
