LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Actor Brad Renfro's arraignment for attempted heroin possession in Los Angeles was postponed Friday because he is back in rehab.

The star of "The Client" and "Apt Pupil" was caught in a police sting when he allegedly tried to buy heroin from undercover officers along Los Angeles' Skid Row Dec. 22.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner James Bianco rescheduled the arraignment for Jan. 18 and continued Renfro's $10,000 bail, allowing him to stay in the full-time drug treatment center, E! Online reported.

Attorney Richard Kaplan said Renfro was "doing fine" at the rehab center and would appear for his arraignment next month.

Renfro, 23, was first busted in 1998 at age 15 for possession of cocaine and marijuana, E! said. He was arrested twice in 2001 -- for attempting to steal a yacht in Florida and for underage drinking.

A judge ordered him into rehab in 2002 for driving without a license and public intoxication while on probation for the Florida offense, E! said.

His next film, "Nobody's Hero," is due out in 2006.
