Lopez, Antony to star in 'El Cantante'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Super couple Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez are co-starring in the salsa biopic "El Cantante," it was reported Saturday.

Antony is portraying Hector Lavoe, who brought Puerto Rico's salsa movement to the United States in 1975, TMZ.com reported. He died in 1993 after lifelong battles with alcohol and drugs.

Lopez is a producer and Lavoe's wife in the film due out in early 2006.
