Courtney Love faces foreclosure sale

OLYMPIA, Wash., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- The Washington state home Courtney Love bought for the family of her late husband, Kurt Cobain, will be sold if she doesn't make good on payments.

Love bought the house about 10 miles outside of Olympia, Wash., in 1997 but apparently stopped making mortgage payments about two years ago, E! Online reported Friday.

Foreclosure documents filed in Thurston County Superior Court say the singer/actress owes $367,000 on the historic house built in 1903. If Love does not make good on the loan by Jan. 6, the house goes under the hammer, E! said.

Love has repeatedly claimed in recent years that she is in dire financial straits and published reports have said she may try to unload her rights to Cobain's and Nirvana's song catalog to raise funds.

She's currently involved in out-patient drug treatment as part of the remainder of a 180-day sentence for probation violation.
