LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling and British "virtual" band, The Gorillaz, have been named 2005 recipients of the Jim Henson Honors.
The honor named after the creator of The Muppets acknowledges those who reflect the core values and philosophy of Jim Henson and the company he founded in 1955, the Jim Henson Co. said in a news release.
Rowling received the Jim Henson Celebration Honor for "inspiring people to celebrate life" while the Gorillaz received the Creativity Honor "for the revolutionary way the band was created as well as the innovative expression of their music."
The Community Service Honor went to Save the Children Board member Bill Haber and the Technology Honor was awarded to the electric/gas hybrid Toyota Prius.
The honorees were chosen by Henson Co. employees who were asked to nominate those who inspired them in their daily lives.
