MADRID, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Julio Iglesias Sr. has died in Madrid only five days after announcing he was to be a father again at age 90.
The patriarch of the singing Iglesias clan was rushed to a hospital near his home with breathing problems Monday and suffered a fatal heart attack in the emergency room, the Daily Mail reported.
Iglesias was the father of singing stars Julio, 62, and the grandfather of Enrique, 31.
He has a 2-year-old son with his U.S. born wife, Ronna Keith, 42, and the couple announced only days ago they were expecting their second child.
Ronna was reported in the United States at the time of husband's death, preparing for the birth of their child, the newspaper said.
Iglesias was to join her early in the New Year after spending Christmas with his sons in Marbella.
