LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Hollywood is buzzing about reported talks between the premium Showtime cable network and the producers of Fox's canceled "Arrested Development."

The Hollywood Reporter could not get a confirmation from any of the key players, but the industry newspaper quoted sources saying exploratory talks are under way among Showtime, 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV.

Despite its Emmy for best comedy and rave reviews from critics, "Arrested Development" never connected with Fox viewers, prompting the network to end its run at the end of the current 13 episodes.

The Reporter said the size and cost of the show's ensemble cast could be a stumbling block as the "Arrested" tries to find a new home.
