Wills draws ire for jet jaunt

LONDON, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Prince William is under fire for using British tax dollars to fly home in a military jet to pick up a pair of boots.

The 25-minute trip reportedly cost around $35,100, Sky News reported Friday. It would have taken about five hours by car.

William flew in an RAF Hawk from Anglesey, North Wales, to the Royal Air Force Base Lyneham in Wiltshire.

He then reportedly spent the night at his father's Highgrove Estate before being driven to Sandhurst military academy in Surrey, where he is an officer cadet.
