LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Not only is Justine Bateman the real-life sister of "Arrested Development" star Jason Bateman, she's going to play one on TV, it was reported Thursday.
The popular Mallory Keaton on "Family Ties" has agreed to play her younger brother's sister as the sitcom winds down its run on Fox TV, the network announced in a news release.
Filming of the episode is currently under way, aptly titled "Family Ties," E! Online reported. It is scheduled to air Jan. 9.
Fox has canceled the critically-hailed comedy and producer Brian Grazer has been widely quoted as saying producers are looking for a new home for the show.
"I can't tell you anything other than I'm hoping it works out in the way that we want it to," he told CNN. "But I'm optimistic."
