NEW YORK, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- NBC Universal Tuesday began offering its shows for download via Apple's iTunes music store for $1.99 apiece.
Shows available for downloading and viewing ranged from current hits such as "Monk," "Battlestar Galactica" and "Surface" to golden oldies like as "Night Rider," Daily Variety reported.

The NBC Universal offerings far surpass the fare being sold by ABC and Disney, Variety noted.
Variety predicted NBC Universal would soon expand its iTunes offerings to include its entire library as well as all shows "from primetime to late night."
