Aniston attorney threatens suit over pics

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Jennifer Aniston's lawyer is warning U.S. celeb magazines and tabloids against publishing topless photos recently snapped by a paparazzo.

The photos of Aniston sunbathing outside her Malibu, Calif., home were taken by Peter Brandt using a "powerful telephoto lens," attorney Lavely wrote in a letter to numerous publications, The Smoking Gun reported on its Web site Monday.

In the letter, Lavely warns any photos "showing (Aniston) topless or in the act of taking off or putting on her top" would result in action seeking "substantial monetary damages."

The letter was dated Dec. 3, three days after Brandt reportedly shopped the photos around to several publications, The Smoking Gun said.

Attorneys for Aniston in London have already obtained a restraining order barring any publication of the photos across the pond, Lavely said.

In addition, he said a suit has been filed against Brandt on Aniston's behalf in Los Angeles Superior Court.
