MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Carly Simon says cruise ships may be the wave of the future for concert artists.
The veteran singer releases a new DVD, "A Moonlight Serenade On The Queen Mary 2," Tuesday, filmed during a transatlantic cruise in September.
"We went across from New York to South Hampton (England) and played on the ship, which I bet is going to be the wave of the future," Simon says.
"You mark my words -- every artist is gonna want to do this, 'cause it's been so kind of pooh-poohed as, 'Oh well, they're just a ship-board artist.' Everyone is gonna want to be doing it, because it's the most fun thing."
A truncated, one-hour version of the DVD will be shown on PBS affiliates during the network's fall pledge drive, which begins Friday.
Simon is touring to promote her latest album, the pop standards collection "Moonlight Serenade."
