LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A California judge Friday freed rocker Courtney Love from a residential drug treatment center and said she could continue her rehab at home.
Judge Rand Rubin praised the singer's progress since he sentenced her to six months of lockdown rehab for probation violations Sept. 21, MTV.com reported.
Under the terms of her release, Love can only leave home for court-approved reasons such as work, AA meetings, community service work and parenting issues. She will also be subjected to random drug tests, MTV said.
Love spent her much of her time in rehab writing music, she told Friday's Guardian.
The singer/actress said her rehab-inspired songs with the working titles "The Depths Of My Despair"; "My Bedroom Walls"; "Sad But True"; and "How Dirty Girls Get Clean" could end up on her next album.
Love told the newspaper she wept with joy when her friend, record producer Linda Perry, brought her an acoustic guitar six weeks ago.
