LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Christopher Kennedy Lawford will star in a half-hour Fox TV comedy loosely based on his life as a member of the Kennedy clan.

The son of actor Peter Lawford and Patricia Kennedy is best known for his work on daytime TV, Daily Variety reported.

Mark Reisman of NBC's "Frasier" is writing the yet untitled show, in which Lawford will portray a Kennedy coming out of an extended adolescence late in life to enter politics, Variety said.

Fox has given a single script commitment to the project.

If the show is picked up, some of the episodes may be taken from Lawford's memoir, "Symptoms of Withdrawal: A Memoir of Snapshots and Redemption," which was published in October.
