Bonnie Raitt inaugurates VH1 Classic show

NEW YORK, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- It will be an all-Bonnie Raitt day Friday on VH1 Classic.

The cable music network will spend the entire day airing the inaugural episode of "Decades Rock Live," a collaborative concert program that in this episode features Raitt performing with guests Norah Jones, Alison Krauss, Ben Harper, and Keb' Mo'. The concert was taped Sept. 30 at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J.

Raitt says it's an eclectic mix of personalities, but they're all creative kindred spirits.

"For me, the artists that appeal to me the most have that kind of nexus of soul music and country and roots," she explains. "You can't really categorize The Band or Little Feat. There's certain kinds of Americana music, I suppose, that I'm knocked out by."

Future "Decades Rock Live" Cyndi Lauper and Riders On The Storm (formerly the Doors of the 21st Century). No air dates have been set for those, however.
