U2 DVD documents tour

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Irish rockers U2 have given fans a souvenir of its ongoing "Vertigo" world tour -- a DVD titled, "Vertigo 2005/U2 Live From Chicago."

The DVD is made up of concerts filmed in May. It's the group's first concert DVD since 2003's "U2 Go Home: Live From Slane Castle," and guitarist The Edge says these electronic records are almost as important to U2 as their albums.

"We put a lot of efforts into our DVDs," he said, "because that's THE document. That's the version of the tour that goes on record, so we try and really make sure they're as good as they can be."

The double-disc set features a concert-length performance along with a documentary called "Beyond The Tour," an alternate version of the video for "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own," and additional clips of several songs from the concerts.

U2 is currently touring North America and is slated to wrap "Vertigo" tour wraps on Dec. 19 in Portland, Oregon.
