NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Comedy Central's "fake news" anchor Jon Stewart has won a share of the 2005 Thurber Prize for American Humor.
"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" star along with co-authors David Javerbaum and Ben Karlin were honored in New York Monday night for their book, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction," Zap2it.com reported.
The top U.S. prize for humor writing is named for author, humorist and New Yorker cartoonist James Thurber.
"The Daily Show" has won a Peabody Award as well as numerous Emmys.
