The winners will be announced Dec. 1 during a gala at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
The best use of technology by an artist category pits 50 Cent and Vivendi Universal Games for "Bulletproof" against Coldplay and Cingular Wireless, crunk kingpin Lil' Jon and Prince and his NPG Music Club.
The music DVD of the year nominees are "Chick Corea Akoustic Band, "Cream Royal Albert Hall," "Live 8" and "Paul McCartney Live in Red Square."
