LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Paul McCartney, rapper 50 Cent, Coldplay and Cream were among the nominees announced Friday for the second annual DEMX Awards.

The awards honor vision, innovation, entrepreneurship and brand development in 21 digital entertainment categories, Billboard.com reported.

The winners will be announced Dec. 1 during a gala at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

The best use of technology by an artist category pits 50 Cent and Vivendi Universal Games for "Bulletproof" against Coldplay and Cingular Wireless, crunk kingpin Lil' Jon and Prince and his NPG Music Club.

The music DVD of the year nominees are "Chick Corea Akoustic Band, "Cream Royal Albert Hall," "Live 8" and "Paul McCartney Live in Red Square."
