AMMAN, Jordan, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- The executive producer of all eight "Halloween" films and his daughter were killed in the terrorist attacks on Amman, Jordan, hotels.
Moustapha Akkad, a U.S. national and resident of Lebanon, had gone to Amman with his daughter, Rima Akkad Monia, for a wedding, Daily Variety reported Friday.
Akkad was director of the 1976 Anthony Quinn film "The Message," about the birth of Islam. He also directed "Lion of the Desert," about Libyan anti-colonial resistance to Italian oppressors between 1911 and 1931, Variety said.
In addition to the eight "Halloween" films, Akkad was executive producer of the 1985 horror film, "Appointment with Fear" and the 1986 comedy, "Free Ride."
Al-Qaida has claimed responsibility for the Thursday blasts that killed at least 56 people.
