LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Fox TV has a series in the works based on Hollywood's "Terminator" films, it was announced Thursday.

Tentatively titled "The Sarah Connor Chronicles," the show will focus on the character played by Linda Hamilton on the big screen and her son, John, Daily Variety reported.

"War of the Worlds" screenwriter Josh Friedman will write the pilot and serve as executive producer of the series.

Variety said the series will take place during the time period between the "Terminator" and "T2."

Neither Hamilton nor California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who originator the "Terminator" character, are expected to be part of the TV series, Variety said.
