LONDON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Estee Lauder has chosen actress Gwyneth Paltrow to replace British model Elizabeth Hurley as the face of its perfumes.

Hurley, 40, will continue in the role as general spokesmodel for Estee Lauder, which she has been performing since 1995, the World Entertainment News Network reported Monday.

The company decided to plug Paltrow into its fragrance campaign to help "vamp up its image and make it more sexy," a Lauder spokesman told WENN.

"Gwyneth is new and a bit more exciting (than Hurley)," the spokesman said.
