LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Rock and Roll Hall of Famer George Clinton is celebrating his 50 years of funk with a relaunch of his groundbreaking Mothership stage show.

The giant spaceship was introduced on the 1976 album "Mothership Connection." Its landing during 1970s Parliament/Funkadelic concerts prompted Spin and Rolling Stone to dub P-Funk one of the best live acts of all time, the Los Angeles Daily News noted.

"We're supposed to be doing the Mothership show for all those who didn't get to see it, hopefully some time next year," Clinton told the Daily News.

Clinton said he'll be hitting the road with the P-Funk All-Stars to promote their first studio album in 10 years, "How Late Do U Have 2 B B 4 U R Absent?"

The band has appearances lined up on "Last Call with Carson Daly" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" the week of Nov. 15 and planning is under way for a tour with Public Enemy before the end of the year, Clinton said.
