Stars line up for tribute to 'Earth'

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Dozens of Hollywood's hottest comedy stars have signed on to appear in "Earth to America!" a 2-hour special celebrating the Earth.

Jack Black, Cedric the Entertainer, Larry David, Will Ferrell, Al Franken, Christopher Guest, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bill Maher, Steve Martin, Ray Romano, Ben Stiller, Wanda Sykes and Robin Williams have all agreed to appear in the telecast, scheduled to be taped Nov. 17 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace during the Comedy Festival in Las Vegas. The show will be taped for a telecast Nov. 20 over TBS.

Steve Koonin, executive vice president and chief operating officer of TBS and sister network TNT, said the show was created to raise awareness about issues concerning the environment.

"We are proud to bring the best in comedy talent in the industry to our audience of comedy lovers for what is certain to be an extraordinary television event," said Koonin in a statement.
