LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Janet Jackson released a brief statement to "Access Hollywood" Wednesday denying she has a 18-year-old daughter secretly raised by her sister, Rebbe.
"I do not have a child and all allegations saying so are false," Jackson told the TV tabloid show.
Singer Young DeBarge told New York radio station WQHT last week that Jackson bore a child during her brief marriage at age 18 to his brother, James DeBarge.
However, "Access Hollywood" notes, the numbers don't exactly add up. Jackson and DeBarge eloped in 1984 and their marriage was annulled three months later.
An 18-year-old daughter would have been born in 1987, three years after the couple went their separate ways.
So far, there has been no comment from James DeBarge or Rebbe Jackson.
