New details emerge in Vitale slaying

MARTINEZ, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- The wife of TV legal analyst Daniel Horowitz was beaten and stabbed by her gloved attacker, documents filed in a Martinez, Calif., court revealed.

Scott Dyleski, who turns 17 Sunday, will be tried as an adult for the Oct. 15 slaying of Pamela Vitale. Her body was discovered by her husband when he returned from work to their Lafayette, Calif., estate.

Deputies found Vitale, 52, in a pool of blood with a 4-inch stab wound to her stomach, multiple blows to the head and a design carved into her back, the Oakland (Calif.) Tribune reported Tuesday. Her killer reportedly showered and drank water before leaving the home.

Dyleski, a neighbor described as quiet, shy and intelligent, was arrested four days later.

Bail was set at $1 million Friday for Dyleski, who was held in juvenile hall. The San Francisco Chronicle said the teenager may enter a plea during his next court appearance scheduled Thursday.
