Canadian actors recreate Lennon bed-in

MONTREAL, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Actors in white pajamas re-enacted the 1969 "bed-in" for peace staged by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in Montreal to promote the pending sale of his lyrics.

A real life couple, actors Michael Evans and Yu Tian, portrayed Lennon and Ono Monday at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel to publicize the Nov. 16 London auction of a hotel envelope -- with the lyrics to "Give Peace a Chance" scrawled on it, Canada's CTV reported Tuesday.

Bonhams auction house estimates the envelope will bring bids up to $300,000. A Bonhams spokeswoman said the lyrics that belonged to the late Beatles publicity rep Derek Taylor, are the most significant ever to be auctioned.

Lennon wrote the lyrics on the envelope and the peace anthem was recorded in the hotel room with guests such as Timothy Leary, Tommy Smothers and Petula Clark.
