PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A Pasadena, Calif., high school senior was crowned Monday the 88th Tournament of Roses Queen.

Camille Clark, 17, beat out more than 1,000 other young women to reign over the 2006 New Year's festivities, culminating with the 117th Rose Parade themed "It's Magical" and the college Rose Bowl Game National Championship.

Clark is a varsity cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation and the Junior Classical League. She is on her school's Student Life Council and Student Ambassador Council and is a volunteer for several organizations.

As an added bonus, Clark will be celebrating her 18th birthday Jan. 2, the same day as the nationally televised Rose Parade.
