Discovery Channel takes on 'Most Evil'

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The Discovery Channel has signed a series called "Most Evil" that examines violent crimes and the people who commit them.

The series will begin with a two-hour special next year, then follow with six one-hour episodes, the Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The show will examine violent acts using the Stone Scale, developed by forensic psychiatrist Dr. Michael Stone of Columbia University.

The scale used in the judicial system helps explain the difference in the underlying psychology between crimes, the Reporter said.

"Evil" will feature profiles illustrating the different gradations on the scale and spotlight scientific research in the area.
