LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Veteran TV producer Mark Tinker has joined the team of HBO's "Deadwood" as executive producer and director.

It will be like old times for Tinker and "Deadwood" creator and executive producer David Milch, The Hollywood Reporter noted Tuesday.

The pair worked together on ABC's longtime hit series "NYPD Blue," which Milch co-created with Steven Bochco. They were also paired on the short-lived 1990 ABC newspaper drama "Capital News."

"Deadwood" is currently shooting its third season, due to air next year.
