LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Oscar winner Jamie Foxx reportedly lowered his salary demands to be in the movie "Dreamgirls" after learning Eddie Murphy and Beyonce had signed on.
In early talks, Foxx priced himself right out of the picture based on the Broadway musical, the World Entertainment News Network said Tuesday. But Foxx said he literally went running back to the table upon learning Murphy and Beyonce were set to star in the movie.
"The first time, it was just me in the movie -- no Eddie Murphy, no Beyonce," Foxx said. Then I hear Eddie's doing it, and I'm like, 'Hey, pay me a dollar.' I hear Beyonce's doing it, 'Pay me a quarter.' I just wanted to be part of that.
"At the end of the day, who cares, man? It's Eddie Murphy; he's my hero."
If the movie is a hit, he said, "you are getting more than a paycheck."
