SILVER SPRING, Md., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Cable TV's Animal Planet Monday said Rob Thomas, LeAnn Rimes and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry will appear and perform in a special about horses.

"Trail MIX" is being hosted and produced by Broadway star Linda Eder and will feature an eclectic group of musicians relating their art to horses, Animal Planet said in a news release.

Also confirmed to participate are Grammy Award-winning country singer Mary Chapin Carpenter and Irish tenor Ronan Tynan. At least two more artists have yet to be named. Music video director Brian Lockwood is at the helm of the show.

The two-hour special premieres at 8 p.m. EST Jan. 29.
