SYDNEY, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Detroit rockers The White Stripes and Iggy Pop & the Stooges will hit the stage for the 2006 Big Day Out festival in Australia and New Zealand.
Scotland's Franz Ferdinand will also be aboard the traveling event Jan. 20-Feb. 5 along with Kings Of Leon, the Mars Volta, AFI, Sleater-Kinney,

Soulwax/2ManyDJs, the Magic Numbers, the Living End, Cut Copy, the End Of Fashion and Youth Group have also commited, Billboard.com reported.
More international acts will be added to the bills as the date draws closer and several native acts will also perform, Billboard said.
The Beastie Boys, System Of A Down, the Chemical Brothers, the Hives, the Donnas and the Polyphonic Spree were among the acts in last year's festival.
