Jennings' estate valued at $50 million

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- ABC Television newsman Peter Jennings reportedly left an estate of about $50 million that will mostly go to his fourth wife and two children.

Jennings, who died in August at age 67, signed his will in April, 16 days after revealing he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, reports the BBC.

His widow, producer Kayce Freed, was left 50 percent of the "net marital estate" and their Central Park West apartment in New York, the report said. His two children, Elizabeth, 25, and Christopher, 23 -- both from his third marriage to author Kati Marton, which ended in divorce -- will also get a share, the report said.

Assets valued at $1million were left to the Peter Jennings Foundation, a charity he founded in 1998 that gives money to fight homelessness, drug addiction and illiteracy.
